This founding role will help shape how Steady America evaluates ideas, protects editorial independence, and turns serious civic subjects into clear, responsible media. The work begins as a defined 90-day trial built around mutual fit and concrete deliverables.
What you’ll own
- Set practical editorial standards and review checkpoints.
- Strengthen scripts, research plans, and publication readiness.
- Build contributor guidance without creating needless bureaucracy.
- Partner directly with the founder on the first production slate.
What we’re looking for
- Strong editorial judgment and crisp written communication.
- Experience reviewing reported, documentary, or civic content.
- Comfort working in an early-stage, founder-led environment.
- Ability to separate factual rigor from partisan performance.
